Mental Health Counseling in Washington and Idaho
Angela VanGrimbergen
LMHCA
Hi, I’m Angela VanGrimbergen, MA, MHP, LMHCA—a licensed mental health professional dedicated to creating a supportive, affirming space where healing and growth feel possible. I work with teens, adults, couples, families, LGBTQ+ individuals, and neurodivergent clients—each with their own unique experiences, strengths, and stories.

I’ve called Spokane, WA, home since 2002. I’m married, raised my children in this community, and share life with my two furry babies, Monkey and Apollo. Outside of the therapy room, I love being in nature—hiking, camping, and exploring new places. Traveling is one of my favorite ways to recharge and gain a fresh perspective.

With several years of experience in the mental health field—including six years working with families involved with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF)—I’ve supported individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult transitions. During that time, I provided therapy, helped clients access vital resources, and taught coping techniques and parenting skills to promote resilience and stability.

I specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I integrate evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices to support meaningful, lasting change.

I believe therapy should be a space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered—especially if you’ve ever felt overlooked or misunderstood. Whether you're an individual seeking clarity, a couple working through disconnection, or a family hoping to strengthen your bond, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

No matter where you are on your journey, you're not alone. Let’s take the next step together.
